KarolyWether he is recording with members of P-Funk, touring with current pop artists or leading his own jazz trio Karoly delivers the same drive and energy he has become known for in the Los Angeles music scene.

Karoly started playing drums at the age of six and continued his studies throughout his teens, and later at the University of North Texas. After college Karoly spent the next seven years playing in Minneapolis, where he played an average of over two hundred shows a year with acts such as Mazarati, The Nathan Anderson Project, and the Twin Cities Jazz Orchestra.

In 2002 Karoly made the move to Los Angeles, to continue his career on the west coast.  First establishing himself as an in demand live player Karoly has worked with many local, and international acts including R&B singer Indeya, Blackbyrd McKnight, Lige Curry, and alternative soul artist Brig Feltus.  For years Karoly has also beeen first call drummer for many of the biggest artists from the Philipines.  He has toured with Vina Morales, Jay-R, Banig, Ella May Saison, Phillipine Idol winner Erik Santos, and many more.  The live performances have also led Karoly to recording sessions at Capitol Records, Warner Brothers, Fox Studios, and Universal Publishing.  Currently Karoly is touring and recording with Damian Brell and Liquid Blue, as well as freelancing with a number of other great artists in the Los Angeles area.

Along with keeping a busy performance schedule, Karoly is very involved in music education. He has authored a method for snare drum, and has been teaching percussion since 1995. Karoly is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
